Introduction

Welcome to Energy Education: Concepts and Practices, an online training developed by the Wisconsin K-12 Energy Education Program (KEEP). We look forward to helping you learn more about the flow of energy through your life.

The training addresses:

Energy concepts relating to energy definitions
Natural laws of energy
Energy in living and nonliving systems, and their relationships to understanding and evaluating environmental issues

Activities include:

Short energy readings
Exploration of KEEP lessons
Connections to classroom activities
Home activities such as reading utility bills and calculating the wattages of various home appliances.
Some fun surprises!

Goal: As a result of participating in this training, participants will gain fundamental knowledge about energy and appreciate the nature of energy in their everyday lives.

Note: These readings do not satisfy the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction’s Environmental Education Stipulation. For completion of these requirements, please enroll in the Energy Concepts & Practices On-Demand Certificate training.
