The dehydrated noodle packaging is not a good example of sustainable product design. Many of today's convenience products come at the expense of our environment. Grounds' idea is to create an edible film that disintegrates before the user's eyes. In a speed-cooking test, noodle packages wrapped in plastic took a full minute longer to cook and required additional time to open flavour sachets. She hopes to make noodle packaging more environmentally friendly.

Traditionally, noodle packaging was made of a thin paper-like material, which was difficult to break down. The plastic in noodle packets takes eight decades to break down. But now, packaging made of bioplastic and other sustainable materials is available. The new concept is an ideal replacement for single-use plastic. And since the noodles are reconstituted in the doughnut shape, they cook evenly, fitting neatly into the bowl.

Noodles come in a variety of sizes, shapes, and recipes. Some of the most common types are Angel Hair, Campanelle, Pappardelle, Farfalle, and Gnocchi. They are made of different shapes and are packaged in a variety of ways. The new noodle packaging has a more compact design that can fit neatly in the bowl. The packaging is also designed to protect the noodle's freshness and flavor from direct sunlight.
